The STEAM Scout’s unique program utilizes observational and social learning with SuperPup Academy’s STEAM-Powered model offer an exceptional and unique training curriculum.
SuperPup Academy’s

Socialization - Scouts interact with a variety of environments at their own pace.
Training - Life skills, confidence, public manners, basic obedience, and more.
Enrichment - Engaging in safe natural behaviors like digging and sniffing.
Activity - Physical exercise and challenges like jumping, climbing, and swimming.
Management - Setting up students up for success.

Joining the Scouts

We want to get to know you and your pup! The information you provide on your application allows your instructor to learn more about your dog, their needs, and your goals with them.
Before their assessment day you’ll send in a copy of your pup’s vaccination records to info@superpup.academy
All STEAM Scouts must be:
Microchipped
Current on flea, tick, and heartworm preventatives
Up-to-date on their Rabies and Distemper/Parvo vaccination or puppy vaccination schedule. Due to the nature of some of our outings, we also recommend discussing Bordatella, Lyme, and Leptospirosis vaccinations with your veterinarian.
Instructor Interview
Once we receive your application an instructor will reach out to schedule your free, initial 15 minute phone call. This conversation is a quick chat to talk about your dog, ask any program questions you may have, and to schedule your dog’s assessment day!
Assessment Day
Connor will come to your house during the Pickup Window of 10:00AM - 1:00PM. Unless otherwise discussed, you are welcome to help with the hand-off at pick up. If you will not be home, leave an accessible key or lockbox - be sure to text your instructor the access code or location of the key(s).
STEAM Scouts provide their own:
Orange safety gear for hikes - a vest, harness, or coat
A comfortable, non-restrictive harness.
Collar with identification.
When Applicable: A well-fitting, basket style muzzle
During the outing SuperPup provides:
A collar with SuperPup Academy’s phone number in addition to owner identification information.
STEAM Scouts are transported in RuffLand kennels for safety.
Water
Longlines - 15-30’ leashes for hikes. New hikers will be held on or drag a long line until they’ve learned off leash skills with Connor as well as in all new or busy environments.
When Applicable: Kennel fans for keeping extra cool in hot weather.
Once your pup is safely loaded into their kennel, Connor will finish the rest of their pick-up route for that day before heading to their outing location.
Enrollment
If your dog is a good fit for the STEAM Scouts program we’ll discuss which schedule is the best option for you: once, twice, or three times a week. Each Scout’s program depends on their individual needs and overall goals.
Packages also include a monthly nail trim or nail care training session depending on your dog’s comfort level.
All outings and appointments are scheduled through Acuity.
Pet Sitting
All enrolled Scouts are also exclusively eligible for Pet Sitting!
Pet sitting is a drop in service. Connor will come for morning and evening meals and potty breaks as well as bringing your Scout on an outing. Pet Sitting Scouts get special weekend outings!
Care for other critters in the home are covered at no additional fee. Connor has extensive experience working with small animals, reptiles, parrots, fish, and other exotics.
